In March 2026, the National Science Foundation awarded $11 million to the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) to launch AI PD Weeks: CS Foundations for Creating with AI, a multi-state effort to prepare thousands of K-12 educators to teach foundational computer science and AI. Over the next two years, the initiative will reach teachers in Indiana, South Carolina, Minnesota, New Jersey, Iowa, Illinois, and additional states, with a goal of training 2,500–3,000 educators nationwide.
CS Everyone is proud to be delivering the UDL4AI curriculum as part of this national push. In June, our team led in-person professional development for two of the initiative’s grant recipients: a five-day session hosted with NextTech in Indiana, where 31 K-12 teachers attended, and a second session at The Citadel in South Carolina, which hosted 35 teachers. While in Indiana, our Director Dr. Maya Israel also led a separate three hour workshop for 22 additional participants — largely tech coaches, professors, and principals. CS Everyone is looking forward to bringing UDL4AI PD to more AI PD Weeks recipients as the initiative expands to additional states.
