Shared Research and Innovation at AERA and NCME 2026

Apr 29, 2026

The CS Everyone Center recently participated in the 2026 Annual Meetings of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) in Los Angeles, California. These international conferences brought together researchers from around the world to share insights and explore emerging trends in education. Our team contributed to these conversations by presenting work focused on computer science (CS) teacher identity, students’ coding comprehension and strategies, procedural flexibility in Algebra, and the development of an LLM-augmented score reporting assistant for K-12 teachers.

During the AERA conference, our team presented three sessions. Dr. Meize Guo, Andrew Bennett (Ph.D. candidate), and Shan Zhang (Ph.D. candidate) led a roundtable session titled Understanding the Development of CS Teacher Identity in a Year-Long Education Program, highlighting insights into how CS teachers develop their professional identities through a year-long certification program.  Results tracked how computer science teacher identities evolved over time.
