Broward County UDL4CS Student Showcase

Jun 2, 2026

The CS Everyone Center continued its work on the National Science Foundation-funded Universal Design for Learning for Computer Science (UDL4CS) project in Broward County Public Schools, supporting efforts to help all learners grow and thrive in computer science education. On May 16, 2026, Director Maya Israel and doctoral student Yujiao Fan traveled to Apollo Middle School to support the district’s annual CS Inclusion Showcase, a fun and interactive event celebrating the achievements of students with disabilities in computer science education.

Students from across Broward County Public Schools presented innovative projects in computer science and robotics, demonstrating both the skills they developed in the classroom and the importance of making computer science accessible to all learners. More than 80 students, families, and educators attended the event, where participants had the opportunity to share their work, learn from one another, and explore how different schools are integrating computer science into their classrooms.

The showcase also featured a Unified Esports competition, along with hands-on demonstrations involving robotics, drones, and other computing technologies. Through these activities, students highlighted their creativity, collaboration, and technical skills while showcasing the impact of inclusive computer science education across the district. The Center was proud to support such an amazing event that continues to help teachers, families, and their students explore and engage in computer science learning opportunities.
