AI Education

Artificial intelligence (AI) is seamlessly integrating into every aspect of our lives, with professional and personal implications. As AI continues to transform the world, it prompts us to reflect on how best to prepare our students for the future. Educators are critical players in these dynamic K-12 shifts, playing an integral role in preparing students to thrive in an AI-enhanced world. To do so, educators must learn how to harness AI to augment the learning experience, engage with students about AI and its impact, and take agency in how and when to integrate AI in their classroom in ways that motivate and inspire future learning, problem solving, and career development.

At CS Everyone, we want to support educators in these tasks by:

  • Demystifying AI: Exploring and illustrating complex AI concepts with practical education applications
  • Providing Actionable Resources: Offering up-to-date learning materials and tools to support AI education
  • Fostering a Community: Creating a collaborative space for educators to share experiences, resources, and best practices in AI education, free from any product or company affiliations – just educators working together to maximize AI opportunities for all learners.

AI Microcredentials

Our AI Education initiative offers a series of four microcredentials that were co-designed with teachers (from public, private, and charter schools), instructional designers, and coaches to equip educators with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate AI into K-12 education effectively. Our microcredentials include:

A young girl wearing glasses and headphones is seated at a table, smiling while looking at a laptop. An adult woman wearing a 'STEMinist' t-shirt is next to her, also smiling and pointing at the laptop screen. They are in a classroom or learning environment, and both appear engaged and happy.

Introduction to AI in K-12 Education

This microcredential introduces AI for K-12 education, demystifying AI concepts, applications, and integration while addressing data privacy, bias concerns, and inclusive practices for diverse learning needs.

A student with curly hair is sitting at a table, typing on a laptop. The screen shows a flowchart and coding blocks, indicating a programming or coding activity. Two additional laptops are visible on the table, suggesting a collaborative learning environment.

Integrating K-12 AI in and for Education

This microcredential builds on foundational AI knowledge, focusing on practical classroom integration, hands-on AI tool use, and addressing data privacy, bias, and equitable AI technology use to enhance diverse student learning needs.

Three people are seated around a table in a meeting room. The person on the left is a woman in a white blazer, looking at her phone. The person in the middle is a woman with short gray hair and glasses, speaking while using a laptop with various stickers. The person on the right is a man in a suit, attentively listening and taking notes. The room has large windows in the background.

AI For The Educator

This microcredential teaches educators to find, evaluate, and use AI tools for administrative and instructional tasks, enhancing efficiency and teaching practice, and focusing on AI applications that support teachers directly.

A group of young children are seated at a table in a classroom, engaging in a hands-on activity. A young woman with glasses is assisting a child in a green fleece jacket, guiding their hand. Paper plates with various materials are on the table, along with instructional sheets. Other children in the background are focused on their tasks.

AI+CS K-12 Integration

This microcredential, linked to our CS Education Microcredentials, focuses on integrating AI and computer science into K-12 classrooms, empowering educators to teach AI alongside key CS concepts, with practical insights, lesson plans, and hands-on practice.
